Founding of Arrufens

Arrufens is a farming hamlet south-west of Romont. It first depended on Savoy and belonged to the lordship of Billens until 1346, before passing to the lords of Illens and then, from about 1470 to 1840, to the Mestral de Mont family. It later came under the bailiwick of Romont and belonged to the parish of Billens. A municipality until 1868, it was then joined to Romont. The station, industry and modern housing have made it a quarter of the town.[1][2]
