Founding of Bruson

Bruson is a village of the former municipality of Bagnes, part of the municipality of Val de Bagnes since 2021. Perched above the valley, not far from Verbier, it gained a chapel dedicated to Saint Michael, its patron, in 1658. How old the village itself is remains unknown. Fionnay became the valley's first summer resort in 1890, and Bruson and then Verbier followed. A small ski area was created at Bruson in 1962. Its company joined Téléverbier in 1978, and a gondola has linked it to Le Châble since 2013.[1][2][4][5]
