Founding of Corcelles-le-Jorat
Finds from the Roman period, notably urns and coins from the 1st and 2nd centuries, attest to an ancient presence. The medieval village appears around 1140; in the 12th century the Bishop of Lausanne granted Corcelles in fief to the lords Philippe and Vaucher. The sources do not specify who created the village itself.

Historic sites in Corcelles-le-Jorat
Castle. 17th-century castle rebuilt in 1769-1771, seat of the lordship held from 1754 by the Polier family; municipal property since 1982 and a cultural property of regional importance (to be cross-checked).
Church. Protestant church built in 1725-1726 in place of the chapel of Saint-Jean-Baptiste, built shortly before 1484.
Country house of Les Jaunins. Residence built around 1765.
