Founding of La Neirigue

La Neirigue lies at the bottom of the valley of the river of the same name, a tributary of the Glâne. In 930 the abbey of Saint-Maurice d'Agaune ceded land here to one Turimbert. From the 12th century the village belonged to the lordship of Grangettes. Its inhabitants live from fodder crops and livestock, and a joinery works in the village. La Neirigue is now part of the municipality of Vuisternens-devant-Romont (merger of 2004).[1]
