Founding of Les Monts-de-Corsier
Les Monts-de-Corsier is the hamlet of the municipality of Corsier-sur-Vevey, which stretches 7.5 kilometres in length, from 384 metres above sea level near the lake up to 950 metres. The sources consulted do not say when or by whom the hamlet was founded; its early history merges with that of the municipality. Until the 20th century Corsier remained a wine-growing community in its lower part and an agricultural one at Les Monts-de-Corsier. The hamlet formerly housed the International School of Monts-de-Corsier, which was part of the Montreux-based Riviera School network; today it is home to the Notre-Dame priory of the Society of Saint Pius X, chemin de Bellière.
