Founding of Perreux

Perreux is one of the small localities of the municipality of Boudry. Its known history is that of the cantonal institution established there in 1894: the cantonal hospital for incurables, later a psychiatric hospital, created by the State of Neuchâtel. In particular, it allowed the Préfargier asylum to discharge patients considered incurable. The site now houses the Centre neuchâtelois de psychiatrie and, since 2014, a federal asylum centre. The sources consulted give neither the origin of the hamlet nor its founder.
