Siviez
Origin of the name Siviez
The resort was called Super-Nendaz, a name still borne by the Siviez bus stop. The name Siviez itself remains unexplained.[5]
Founding of Siviez
Siviez, in the municipality of Nendaz, was an uninhabited area when the resort of Super-Nendaz was created there in 1965. The road had already reached it in 1946. The resort started with drag lifts built by the Bühler company and gradually acquired chairlifts and gondola lifts. It lies at about 1'735 m, beside the Printse. From Siviez one reaches Mont-Fort (3'330 m), the highest point of the 4 Vallées ski area.[1][2]
