Courtemblin et Courtari
Origin of the name Courtemblin et Courtari
The two localities appear in the list of villages sold in 1386 to the counts of Montbéliard, in the forms « Courtemblin » and « Courtari ». « Courtary » is also used. Like the other Jura place names in « Cour- », they are thought to date from the Burgundian period, the prefix coming from Latin « curtis » (farm, estate). The rest of the names is unexplained.[3][4]
Founding of Courtemblin et Courtari

Both were abandoned before or during the Thirty Years' War, and Courtemblin, destroyed by the troops of the Duke of Saxe-Weimar, never recovered.[1][2][3]
