Founding of Choully
Choully, a village of the municipality of Satigny, stretches along the crest of the Mandement vineyard hill, with almost continuous houses lining the street. The hilltop was already inhabited in the Late Neolithic, as traces of settlements found at the place called Crédery, at the edge of the village, show. In the 17th century several estates developed here, including the former Calandrini estate. In the 18th century the building of the castle, on the site of a former fortified house, changed the look of the village.[1][2]
